Every disease of the body
no matter what name it is called is
Constipation

The Common Denominator

In Mosby’s Medical dictionary there are 1749 pages of medical and disease conditions of the human body, physical and mental. The medical profession has a different name for every condition that we manifest, and a different cause for each condition. However, in nature the one "law"that is always evident throughout creation is simplicity. The failure to recognize nature’s simplicities is the great error of the medical profession. Doctors and Surgeons alike misdiagnose the cause of disease. Every disease has its starting point in the colon. Every disease of the human body no matter what name it is called is Constipation. It begins in the colon, which has never been completely emptied since birth, and spreads throughout the entire body clogging the small hairlike vessels of the body.

The creator has given us a marvelous and most remarkable machine ie. the human body. A body that can fight off sickness and disease. But, to the sadness of the ages our body remains much of a mystery. There are many secrets yet to be discovered regarding the health and maintenance of our bodies.

On that note, I personally know of several individual that are very knowledgeable about many things, especially their particular profession or vocation. But they have not a clue as to the workings of their own body. Now, this is such a common situation among the present population that we think nothing of the matter. One individual that I have in mind is a master mechanic of automobiles. He can tell you everything and anything you need to know about the motor oil that runs a car, but he has no clue as to why we have blood in our bodies, other than we need blood to stay alive.

Blood is to the human body as motor oil is to the automobile. They both function at their optimal when clean and fresh. If the viscosity is to thick or to thin there is bound to be problems and disease conditions. I can think of another friend, a computer technologist, very astute in his field. He understands the wiring and circuitry of a computer-hardware so well you would think he had a PhD in the subject. However he could never tell you about the action potential of a neuron.

I may be one of the few who thinks in this dimension, but to me this is a bit abnormal, that we should be so knowledgeable about so many things in our environment and at the same time so contrasty ignorant about our body - how to keep it healthy and disease free. The human body has many levels of structural organization. The simplest level of the structural hierarchy is the CHEMICAL LEVEL. Before we begin an explanation of the various levels and structures let's be clear as to what disease really means.

Disease means that somewhere in the body their is some type of dis-ease. The natural flow of fluids or energy has been blocked or interrupted in some way form or fashion. We often try to treat a dis-ease which is the effect without ever getting to the cause.

Structural Organization

CHEMICAL LEVEL

At this level, atoms, tiny building blocks of matter, combine to form molecules such as water, sugar, and proteins. Molecules, in turn, associate in specific ways to form organelles, basic components of the microscopic cells. Cells are the smallest units of living things. Individual cells vary widely in size and shape, reflecting their unique functions in the body. All cells have some common functions, but only certain cell types form the transparent lens of the eye, secrete mucus, or conduct nerve impulses. If there is any blockage that might prevent these tiny cells from performing, we have a disease condition The simplest living creatures are composed of single cells, but in complex organisms such as human beings, the hierarchy continues on to the TISSUE LEVEL.

TISSUE LEVEL.

Tissues are groups of similar cells that have a common function. The four basic tissue types in the human body are epithelium, muscle, connective tissue, and nervous tissue. Each tissue type has a characteristic role in the body. Briefly, epithelium covers the body surface and lines its cavities; muscle provides movement; connective tissue supports and protects body organs; and nervous tissue provides a means of rapid internal communication by transmitting electrical impulses. Any blockage within this group will result in disease conditions.

An organ is a discrete structure composed of at least two tissue types (four is more commonplace) that performs a specific function for the body.

ORGAN LEVEL

At the ORGAN LEVEL, extremely complex functions become possible. Let's take the stomach for an example. Its lining is an epithelium that produces digestive juices; the bulk of its wall is muscle which churns and mixes stomach contents (food); its connective tissue reinforces the soft muscular walls; and its nerve fibers increase digestive activity by stimulating the muscle to contract more vigorously and the glands to secrete more digestive juices. The liver, the brain, and a blood vessel are very different from the stomach, but they are organs as well. You can think of each organ of the body as a specialized functional center responsible for a necessary activity that no other organ can perform. Blockage within any of these vital organs will result in a disease condition that not only are inconvenient but costly.

ORGAN SYSTEM

The next level of organization is the ORGAN SYSTEM. Organs that work closely with one another to accomplish a common purpose make up an organ system. For example, organs of the cardiovascular system, mainly the heart and blood vessels they see to it that blood circulates continuously to carry "oxygen" and nutrients to all body cells. Besides the cardiovascular system, the other organ systems of the body are the integumentary, skeletal, muscular, nervous, endocrine, respiratory, digestive, lymphatic, urinary, and "reproductive" systems. The highest level of organization is THE ORGANISM, the living human being. The organismal level represents the sum total of all structural levels working together to promote "life". This is why it is so important for us understand how and why our body functions, in this way we can insure our health and avoid disease.

Now that we are a bit familiar with the body structure and levels lets proceed directly to the digestive system. For it is within this system where care must taken, and a full understanding of this system is most important.

The Digestive System

Digestion takes place within a tube called the digestive tract, which begins with the mouth and ends with the anus. The function of the digestive system is to ingest food, digest it to nutrients that can cross plasma membranes, absorb nutrients, and eliminate indigestible remains. Digestion involves two main processes that occur simultaneously. During mechanical digestion, large pieces of food become smaller pieces, readying them for chemical digestion. Mechanical Digestion begins with the chewing of the food in the mouth and continues with the churning and mixing of food that occurs in the stomach. Parts of the digestive tract produce digestive enzymes. During Chemical Digestion, many different enzymes break down macro-molecules to small organic molecules that can be absorbed. Each enzyme has a particular job to do. The Digestive System breaks down food into absorbable units that enter the blood for distribution to body cells; indigestible foodstuffs are eliminated as feces. Any homeostatic imbalance within this system will result in disease and disorder.

The Small Intestine

When food has passed through the stomach by way of the mouth and esophagus, it enters the long, coiled tube called the Small Intestine. Here is where about 90% of the absorption into the bloodstream of all food constituents takes place.

By the time it reaches the small intestine, food from the mouth has been reduced by the action of chewing and digestive juices into a liquid known as"chyme." Digestion of carbohydrates starts in the mouth with saliva. Good health begins with proper chewing of the foods we eat.

Further digestion takes place in the stomach. Proteins are broken down into short chains of amino acids (the essential ingredients of protein formation) in the stomach, while further reduction takes place in the small intestine until the molecules can be properly absorbed.

When chyme has been thoroughly mixed and broken down by the stomach, the pyloric sphincter muscle valve opens and allows the food to enter into the uppermost portion of the small intestine or duodenum. Here in the duodenum, the first of three portions of the small intestine, the chyme is again thoroughly mixed by the contraction of the muscular walls.

The longitudinal and circular muscles of the intestinal walls are capable of performing three different types of movements, each serving a different purpose.

The circular muscles divide the tube of the small intestine. These contract, segmenting the food as it passes. Further contraction of the muscles between these segments occurs, making smaller segments, then the first set of muscles relax. This action results in a sloshing motion called rhythmic segmentation and takes place 12 to 16 times a minute. As a result of these movements, the chyme is thoroughly mixed with digestive juices. A wave of contractions, known as Peristalsis flows from the duodenum through the jejunum, or middle portion of the small intestine all the way to and through the ileum, the third and final portion.

Peristalsis is the motion caused by the rhythmic coordination of the muscles and propels the chyme through the small intestine. Some disease condition of this system will prevent the peristalsis action or slow this action down where the food is not mixed so well.

Normal muscular activity of the intestine is not usually felt, although toxin-producing bacteria may cause violent and painful spasms to be felt. Diarrhea and vomiting are both reactions to irritations of the stomach and bowel. The small intestine is so constructed that nutrient absorption is most efficient. A large inner surface area is provided by accordion-like folds of the intestinal wall. Lining the wall are finger-like structures called villi. They project into the interior of the tube from all directions. The average adult has a small intestinal area of approximately 200 sq. ft.

The small molecular particles of the broken down food are able to pass into the cells lining the villi and are taken up by the tiny blood capillaries and eventually find their way into the hepatic portal vein where they are carried to the liver and reduced even further. From the liver, digested food substances are delivered to other cells in the body to support life-giving cellular activities.

The small intestine averages 20 to 22 feet in length and is from 1-1/4 to 1-1/2 inches wide throughout this distance. The ileum terminates at the base of the large intestine in the right lower section of the abdomen. We must do all we can to ward off any disease condition from nesting within this tube. Every disease, no matter what name it is known by Medical Science, is constipation.

THE DIGESTIVE JUICES

Chyme entering into the duodenum from the stomach is highly acidic. It contains a concentration of hydrochloric acid and enzymes, which are required to break down the larger molecules so that absorption becomes more prolific.

The small intestine secretions contain Bicarbonate, an alkaline substance, which causes a neutralization of the stomach acid. Special cells in the intestinal wall secrete these substances and are combined with juices flowing from the Gall Bladder (bile) and pancreatic juices, which flow by way of the Pancreatic Duct into the Duodenum.

Bile salts, produced in the liver and stored in the gall bladder, once in the intestine act like a detergent to emulsify the fatty acids and glycerides, making very small particles to be absorbed into the walls of the intestine. By way of hormonal secretions, the small intestine is able to control the digestive processes. Every disease, no matter what name it is known by Medical Science, is constipation.

THE LARGE INTESTINE OR COLON

Within 8 to 10 hours of eating. The food passed through the small intestine and is mostly digested, it then enters the Large Bowel for the final digestive processes and elimination.

The colon is divided into the following sections: the cecum, ascending colon, transverse colon, descending colon, sigmoid and rectum. Altogether it is approximately 5 feet long and 2-1/2 Inches in diameter.

The cecum is a blind pouch whose open end joins the ascending colon as it ascends upward toward the first bend called the Hepatic Flexure. Here at the cecum is found the Ileo-Cecal valve, a Sphincter muscle that controls the flow of food materials from the small Intestines into the large intestine. Situated at the extreme end of the cecum is the worm like sac called the Appendix. It is about 3 inches long and is often the source of inflammation resulting in a condition known as appendicitis. The colon, unlike the small bowel, has a mucous lining or membrane, which is smooth and void of villi. Every disease, no matter what name it is known by Medical Science, is constipation.

Surrounding this mucous layer is a muscular coat consisting of circular internal muscles and longitudinal external muscles as found in the small bowel. The colon is shaped into Bulbous pouches called Haustras. These Haustras are made up of muscles which contract to gather the colon up into a puckered appearance and which allow considerable expansion.

The Colon terminates in the Rectum and Anus, the exterior opening. The anus is held closed by the anal sphincter muscle. The mucus membrane inside the rectum is striated in length-wise segments giving it a fluted appearance. Generally the nerve supply to the colon is sparse and therefore sensory impulses are very weak. Colonic muscular activity is largely unfelt as a result. An exception is found in the rectum where nerve endowment is greater and thus there is the pain associated with hemorrhoids or other rectal disturbances. Every disease has its starting point in the colon.

HOW THE LARGE INTESTINE FUNCTIONS

Through the ileo-cecal valve, chyme is passed into the cecum from the small intestine. At this stage, the chyme consists of undigested or undigestible food substances, secretions from the liver, pancreas, small bowel and water. In the cecum, the water is mostly removed, reducing the chyme to a semi-solid consistency, which is now called feces.

To provide lubrication for the passage of the feces, numerous cells line the walls of the bowel and secrete a mucus substance. As a result of haustral churning, a constant sloshing effect finishes the digestive process of the chyme. Under mass peristalsis, the feces are pushed toward the rectum and anus where they are eventually eliminated from the body. This movement is caused by the presence of food in the stomach. This activity empties the cecum and makes it ready to receive new chyme from the small intestine.

I trust this crash coarse in anatomy didn’t bore you. I seriously thought we could bypass the anatomy, but as my approach became clear this portion was necessary to what is to fallow. So, lighten-up the worst is behind us, the rest is smooth sailing, certain to capture your attention.

To recapitulate; Digestion takes place within a tube called the digestive tract, which begins with the mouth and ends with the anus. The Digestive System breaks down food into absorbable units that enter the blood for distribution to body cells; indigestible foodstuffs are eliminated as feces.

In his book The Muculess Diet Healing System, professor Arnold Ehret had this to say about the human body; “The human engine must first be seen before all other physiological considerations as an air-gas engine, built and constructed in its entirety, with the exception of the bones, from a rubber-like, very elastic spongy material called flesh, tissue and vessels” .

Dr. Ehret continues by saying; true vitality is achieved when this elastic system is free from obstruction. His formula of Life is as follows “V = P - O (V equals P minus O). V stands for Vitality, P for Power and O means Obstruction. "P," or call it "X," the unknown quantity in this question, is the POWER that drives the human machinery, which keeps you alive, which gives you strength and efficiency, endurance for as yet an unknown length of time. "O" means OBSTRUCTION; encumbrance, foreign matters, toxemias, mucus in short; all internal impurities, which obstruct the circulation, the function of internal organs especially, and the human engine in its entire functioning system.

You can see thru this equation that as soon as "O" becomes greater than "P" the human machine must come to a standstill” (53,54). Every disease of the human body no matter what name it is called is constipation.

Every disease, no matter what name it is known by Medical Science, is constipation. The obstruction, that occur within the small blood vessels and veins are due to a number of causes according to American Medical Association (AMA). Some of the causes are “atherosclerotic plaques, which is the yellowish plaques of cholesterol, other lipids and cellular debris in the inner layers of the walls of the arteries. It is associated with tobacco use, obesity, hypertension, elevated low-density lipoprotein and depressed high density lipoprotein levels, and diabetes mellitus as Mosby’s Medical so plainly reads” (151). As you can see from the statement made at the beginning of this paper, the medical profession has a different name for every condition that we manifest, and a different cause for each condition.

How is it exactly that this spongy, elastic pipe system become clogged in the first place? We were informed that it was here in the small intestine where 90% of absorption into the bloodstream of all food constituents takes place. This tells us that, what the small intestines absorbs is most important to the blood and the rest of the system.

Again absorption is performed by the finger-like structures called the villi. If and when the villi become blocked or covered absorption is greatly hindered. The block or the covering of the villi is due to the presence of waste mucus in this tube system, and constipation is the result. Before we venture further in our unfoldment of the workings of the human body lets grasp a clear definition and understanding of constipation.

Every disease, no matter what name it is known by Medical Science, is constipation. Jensen says that "Constipation is a clogging up of the large intestine". Constipation is a subject that everyone can talk about, usually from experience, and most have spent a good deal of money trying to overcome or avoid. Last year, laxative sales were conservatively placed at $350 million. Now that's a lot of constipation!

What's going on here? “Over 70 million Americans suffer from bowel problems. The number 2 cause of death in the United States is cancer. Of these, 100,000 give up their lives every year due to cancer of the colon. Here is a quote from the American Cancer Society, "Evidence in recent years suggests that most bowel cancer is caused by environmental agents. Some scientists believe that a diet high in beef and/or low in fiber is the cause. "Colon problems such as colitis, ileitis and diverticulitis affect a conservative number of about two million people.

The medical profession reports, that "Despite decades of research in these diseases, their cause and cure for the most part is still unknown" Colostomy is a surgical procedure whereby the intestine is severed from the colon due to that organ's functional breakdown. The colostomized individual is then faced with the lifetime elimination of feces through an opening in their side into an attached pouch.

There are 100,000 people who undergo this radical approach each year. Needless to say, bowel difficulties such as autointoxication and constipation are a growing concern to almost everyone. And make no mistakes constipation is a disease condition. Out of these two conditions, which are actually symptoms of another problem, come a plethora of evils that are ruinous in their consequences.

Nearly every man, woman, and child living in modern society today is constipated. Yes, constipated whether they know it or not. Yes, constipated even though the bowels may move regularly every day. Yes, even people with chronic diarrhea suffer from one form of constipation. To understand such a statement, consider the meaning of the word "constipate". Its Latin root is "constipare", which means to press together.

So constipation is a disease condition in which one's feces are packed together. There are two types of constipation. One type is present when the feces that pass from the body are overly packed together. Another type of constipation is present when old, hardened feces stick to the walls of the colon and do not pass out with the regular bowel movements. Both types of constipation are so common among the members of modern society today that scarcely anybody recognizes them as being unnatural. As we shall see, constipated bowel movements are generally looked upon as normal stools. And few people have any inkling as to how much; old hardened feces are chronically present within their bodies.

Every disease, no matter what name it is known by Medical Science, is constipation."Constipation is a clogging up of the entire pipe system of the human body. Any special symptom is therefore merely extraordinary local constipation by more accumulated mucus at this particular place. Special accumulation points are the tongue, the stomach and particularly the entire digestive tract. This last is the real and deeper cause of bowel constipation. The average person has as much as ten pounds of uneliminated feces in the bowels continually, poisoning the blood stream and the entire system. Think of it! Every sick person has a more or less a mucus-clogged system, such mucus being derived from undigested and uneliminated, unnatural food substances, accumulated from childhood on". Every disease, no matter what name it is known by Medical Science, is constipation.
